Welcome to Casa Aberta! Yesterday, we opened the doors of Matriarca to showcase our entire portfolio of ports and wines from the Douro, Alentejo, Monção and Melgaço, and Hampshire in the UK.
Presented by Rupert and Charles (4th gen.), along with Charlotte, Anthony, and Vicky (5th gen.), this was the first time we have ever showcased our family's entire portfolio in one place – a very special moment indeed.
As well as a chance to taste our wines, guests were invited to take part in three masterclasses: one focusing on the terroir that has shaped our white wines, another on our reds from Quinta do Vesúvio, Quinta da Fonte Souto, and Quinta do Ataíde, and a third on the special art of ageing Vintage Ports and Single Harvest Tawny Ports.
