Altano & Graham's Named in Wine Spectator's Top Wines of 2025
We are honoured to have two of our wines featured in the prestigious annual ‘Top 100 Wines of the World’ ranking from the influential Wine Spectator magazine – a global reference in the sector since 1988.
In this year’s edition, only two Portuguese wines are featured in the exclusive Top 100, both belonging to Symington, highlighting Portugal and the Douro region on the international stage. The accolades went to Altano Douro DOC Red 2022, in 48th place, and Graham’s 20 Year Old Tawny, ranked 57th among the wines in the list.
“We are immensely proud to receive this double recognition from Wine Spectator. Being the Portuguese representatives in this year’s Top 100 is a milestone that reflects the ongoing dedication of our teams in the Douro, as well as the quality and authenticity of the wines we produce. These accolades further reinforce our family’s commitment to showcasing Portugal and the Douro region at the highest international level,” says Rupert Symington, Chairman.
The inclusion of these two wines represents a highly significant recognition, especially considering the rigour of Wine Spectator’s editorial team. The list is followed closely by producers, distributors, journalists, sommeliers and hospitality professionals worldwide.
Around 10,200 wines were tasted throughout 2025 – in blind tastings – by Wine Spectator’s panel of senior editors, of which approximately 5,500 scored 90 points or more. Only wines scoring 90 points or above are eligible for the Top 100.
