Cockburn's Port Lodge

Visiting Cockburn’s working Port Lodge is an unforgettable experience. Located in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the opposite bank of the River Douro from Porto, time moves at a slow pace amongst the rows of barrels. You are invited to experience the tranquil atmosphere as you witness the wines slowly maturing in the seasoned oak barrels called ‘pipes’.

The Cockburn’s Lodge has more Port ageing in seasoned-wooden casks and vats than any other cellar in the historical area of Vila Nova de Gaia and as you walk into the sturdy stone walled building you will be surrounded by rows of barrels and vats of all shapes and sizes. Tours are available in several languages.
