A stunning expression of the Douro, sourced from two of our most prized high-altitude vineyards.

Gouveio

Known for its yellow colour, this variety produces lively wines with good acidity, fresh aromas, and ageing potential.

Tapadinha

One of our family’s most prized high-altitude vineyards. Located high in the Rio Torto Valley as part of Quinta do Retiro.

Viosinho

A variety with extremely low yields, but one that produces fresh, fragrant, and well-balanced wines.

Arinto

A versatile variety, Arinto helps create vibrant wines with acidity and freshness, and a mineral undertone.

Chões

One of our family’s finest high-altitude vineyards, reaching 500m. Located in Quinta das Netas, it is known for its incredible panoramic views across the Pinhão Valley.

Alvarinho

A subtly fragrant variety that produces full-bodied wines with great ageing potential.

Batonnage

Action of stirring the lees deposited at the bottom of a vat back into the wine. Originates from the french word "bâton", the instrument used for this action which adds flavour, aroma and texture to the wine.

Altitude

Allows for more moderate temperatures and smoother maturations, essential in creating fresh and balanced wines.

Verdelho

With compact bunches and small grapes, Verdelho produces aromatic and structured wines with marked acidity.

Since we began our mission to produce great still wines in the Douro, we have been learning how white varieties perform in this unique and challenging terroir.

With Pequeno Dilema we believe we are answering the question of whether our region can produce beautiful whites.

A fresh and elegant wine, with great poise and character, sourced from two high-lying plots in privileged locations.
